What a much looked forward to wedding this was! Ashley is Scott's cousin and her and Jono had been dating a very long time before he proposed, hence why we all looked forward to this wedding! Scott was asked to officiate the wedding earlier this year, another reason we were looking forward to it! The wedding took place in Southern California in late July.
Scott and I decided it was best to break the long drive up and head to Fresno first and sleep there then head to LA the next day. Scott had to be there by Thursday night for rehearsal early Friday, so his mom decided to drive with us and
be our nanny entertain Jase on the drive. She was an amazing help and the drive went well.
Thursday night, however, did not go so well. Jase decided to wake up at 12 AM and not go back to sleep until 5 AM Friday morning. Scott and spent that time walking up and down the lobby of the Four Seasons with Jase in the Ergo trying to get him to sleep. After multiple attempts to put him down we finally went back up the room around 5 AM and he slept on me basically still in the Ergo.
Scott had rehearsal Friday morning so we dropped him off and Jase and I headed to meet my college friend and bridesmaid, Danielle, and her son Elijah. I was so thankful that we were able to meet Danielle & Eli (it was iffy if we were going to be able to meet as her sister was due with a baby any day) it kept Jase occupied for the morning. Much better then being stuck in a hotel room!
After rehearsal the bridal party and family went to Ashley's house for lunch and swimming. It worked out to be good timing when we left Danielle and headed to the house that Scott was headed there shortly as well. Jase didn't last very long for lunch so Scott and I went back to the hotel with him to try and get him to nap. Wouldn't you know he didn't want to. Let me remind you we're working on about 3.5 hours of sleep right now. Took keep Jase happy we took him to the hotels kid area (we found out about this when we were walking the night/morning before). That jept him busy until around dinner time. We had rehearsal dinner that night, but Scott and I decided to go get some food before just incase Jase didn't last. Good thing we did that, Jase fell asleep on the way to rehearsal dinner and woke up at the dinner in a horrible mood. We couldn't really blame him. I drove him around for a while while Scott stayed at the dinner and we went back tot he hotel shortly after and got Jase to sleep. That night Jase slept with Scotts parents in their bed. Everyone slept well! THANK GOODNESS!
Saturday went so GREAT! Jase napped, thanks to Scott's mom holding him for 2 plus hours and he did AWESOME at the wedding. He napped a bit before and during the ceremony and had a blast during the reception. The wedding itself was beautiful, we didn't expect anything less! Scott did a great job being the officiant and I think the entire family was relieved when the ceremony was over so we could PARTY and that we did!
Overall a beautiful wedding and an eventful fun trip!
