Bow Shooting with DAD

With hunting season quickly approaching (as in this weekend) Scott wanted to go shoot his bow to make sure his shoulder could take it. Originally Scott was just going to take Jase and let me have a break, but I decided Scott could be much more productive if I went. I'm glad I did, it was a perfect time to snap some pictures of Jase with the setting sun and open land.

Jase was able to run freely and also got to see some horses. This kid has NO FEAR, he ran up to the horse and did not hesitate to touch it! He said WOW a million times and every little thing he saw, including the ceiling fans.

Ashley & Jono's Wedding

What a much looked forward to wedding this was! Ashley is Scott's cousin and her and Jono had been dating a very long time before he proposed, hence why we all looked forward to this wedding! Scott was asked to officiate the wedding earlier this year, another reason we were looking forward to it! The wedding took place in Southern California in late July.

Scott and I decided it was best to break the long drive up and head to Fresno first and sleep there then head to LA the next day. Scott had to be there by Thursday night for rehearsal early Friday, so his mom decided to drive with us and be our nanny entertain Jase on the drive. She was an amazing help and the drive went well.

Thursday night, however, did not go so well. Jase decided to wake up at 12 AM and not go back to sleep until 5 AM Friday morning. Scott and spent that time walking up and down the lobby of the Four Seasons with Jase in the Ergo trying to get him to sleep. After multiple attempts to put him down we finally went back up the room around 5 AM and he slept on me basically still in the Ergo.

Scott had rehearsal Friday morning so we dropped him off and Jase and I headed to meet my college friend and bridesmaid, Danielle, and her son Elijah. I was so thankful that we were able to meet Danielle & Eli (it was iffy if we were going to be able to meet as her sister was due with a baby any day) it kept Jase occupied for the morning. Much better then being stuck in a hotel room!

After rehearsal the bridal party and family went to Ashley's house for lunch and swimming. It worked out to be good timing when we left Danielle and headed to the house that Scott was headed there shortly as well. Jase didn't last very long for lunch so Scott and I went back to the hotel with him to try and get him to nap. Wouldn't you know he didn't want to. Let me remind you we're working on about 3.5 hours of sleep right now. Took keep Jase happy we took him to the hotels kid area (we found out about this when we were walking the night/morning before). That jept him busy until around dinner time. We had rehearsal dinner that night, but Scott and I decided to go get some food before just incase Jase didn't last. Good thing we did that, Jase fell asleep on the way to rehearsal dinner and woke up at the dinner in a horrible mood. We couldn't really blame him. I drove him around for a while while Scott stayed at the dinner and we went back tot he hotel shortly after and got Jase to sleep. That night Jase slept with Scotts parents in their bed. Everyone slept well! THANK GOODNESS!

Saturday went so GREAT! Jase napped, thanks to Scott's mom holding him for 2 plus hours and he did AWESOME at the wedding. He napped a bit before and during the ceremony and had a blast during the reception. The wedding itself was beautiful, we didn't expect anything less! Scott did a great job being the officiant and I think the entire family was relieved when the ceremony was over so we could PARTY and that we did!

Overall a beautiful wedding and an eventful fun trip!

4ht of July

We spent 4th of July in Fresno this year as we were headed to the lake the next day. We really didn't plan on doing any fireworks as usually Jase is asleep when it's dark, but we decided last minute to do them. Scott's mom ran out to get a small pack and we had some fun in front of their house.

Jase LOVED the fireworks (another thing he gets from me)!

Lake Trip to Lake Nacimiento

The annual lake trip to Lake Nacimiento with Scott's family happens every year around the 4th of July. It's always a vacation we look forward to as its time spent with family and mostly away from day to day life. I mean really, who doesn't want to spend a week at the lake?

This lake trip. for me, was much more relaxing then last year. Last year Jase was only 3 months old and I was still in "new" mommy mode and worried about Jase the whole time. This year looked A LOT different. Jase was almost never in my arms (unless of course he needed his mommy). I took FULL advantage of having help around to tend to Jase.

The lake itself was pretty sad looking this year and definitely showed how serious the drought in California is. Take a look at last year here. Even though we were not able to hang out at the dock like usual (there was no water for it to float) we made the best of going out on the boat a couple of times, I even surfed this year! We also got to enjoy some tubing on the new tub Scott's dad bought to go with the new boat (really I think I may have been the only one who actually enjoyed it).

Jase seemed to like the boat best when it was moving and HATED the life jacket. He spent some time in the lake in his floaty splashing around and was the first to spill in the new boat (don't worry it was only goldfish). Overall a great vacation!
