Christmas

Christmas was crazy thing year! We traveled to both of our parents house over the course of four days, or as Scott calls it, the tour of California. Our first stop was at my parents house in Grover Beach. We left Christmas Eve morning with our car loaded with just the bare minimum of what we needed... and gifts. Scott and I are both always a little nervous going into long car rides with Jase because we never know if he'll sleep, cry or a combination of both. Both of us were so surprised when he feel asleep once we ht the freeway since nap time isn't until afternoon, but the car was quiet so we were ok with it. He basically slept until we stopped for lunch in Kettleman. After lunch he was a happy camper until we arrived at my parents house. This was one of the easiest drives we've done since Jase was born. Not any really bad moments... a Christmas miracle!

We basically relaxed when we got to my moms, ate dinner and Jase got to open a gift. My mom wanted him to open three gifts, but he made it through one, and only wanted to play with that gift. Jase went to bed pretty easy and had a good night of rest to make him ready for Santa bright and early. Opening presents was an all day thing for Jase, he just couldn't focus and thats OK. He literally started at 7AM and ended opening before bed time!

Christmas Day was so great. Our family friends, the Stanley's, came over in the morning to hang out for a bit. Jase enjoyed playing with Sam and Violet and all of us enjoyed watching them play together. Later in the afternoon the Knight Family came over for dinner. Lucy got to help Jase open some more gifts and Ben enjoyed playing with toys. It was so much fun to watch all the kids together, truly heart warming.

We stayed at my parents until Friday afternoon and then headed to Fresno to Scott's parents. We got into Fresno just in time for dinner. Jase got to open his big gift from Scotts parents and then it was off to bed. Saturday morning we went to see Brandon and Whitney and visit for a bit. It was nice to see them since we weren't able to make it to the wedding because of everything going on with losing Timothy at that time. It's always good to catch up with them. After that I had a coffee date with Kristen at Starbucks, our girl time is always needed and refuels me for a bit. Jase opened the rest of his gifts in the morning and later that day Scott's cousins came into town from LA. We had dinner with them and just hung out. Sunday morning we went to the Morello's house for brunch with Scott's family and then headed to the Birchfield's to let Hunter and Jase play a bit before we had to drive back to Lodi.

This Christmas, like I said earlier, was just crazy, but oh so much fun! Watching Jases' face light up when he opened a gift was nothing short of amazing. Hanging out with family is always cherished. I will be honest and say I was a little worried how I'd feel this Christmas, since losing Timothy is still so fresh, but it was still amazing and we have SO much to be thankful for. Being with family makes everything a little bit easier to deal with also.

Abby Turned FOUR!

I can't believe it's taken me over a week to write about Abby's birthday... bad mom status!

Abby's birthday was on December 13th and she had a fun day. I like to take Abby, just me and her now that we have Jase, to get a new toy and usually to a dog park. This year it was raining so we only made it to Pets Mart. Never the less, we had fun!

Abby has still proven to be great with Jase. This year it seems she loves him most when he's eating. This has caused Abby to be at her highest ideal weight (vet's words) so she is starting on a "light" dog food in her 4th year of life. Abby also loves to play with Jase ( on her terms) and nap when he does.

We love Miss Abby!

Rainy Day Fun

If you haven't heard there is a storm going through California right now. Yesterday, here in Lodi, it was raining ALL DAY, so Jase and I took advantage of it and played in the rain.

Jase has been in rain before, but last year in the winter he wasn't walking so he wasn't really able to play in the rain. Jase loves water and rain was no exception. I think it's safe to say he had fun! Abby, on the other hand, decided to watch from inside the house.

Apparently he needed more water - no, I didn't turn it on for him
